We're in the Sunday times top 25 big companies to work for

Taylor Walker is part of Spirit Pub Company, one of the largest pub companies in the UK. Our employees have voted to name us as one of the best businesses to work for in the UK, after the company ranked 16th in The Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For.

The Sunday Times Top 25 allows colleagues to comment on eight specific areas, including employee opinions on their organisation’s leadership, their manager, immediate colleagues, pay and benefits, wellbeing, their organisation’s willingness to give something back, people’s personal development, and overall sense of affiliation with their employer. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall engagement qualify for the 25 Best Big Companies to Work For list.

Scott Bailey, 25, joined Spirit as a Team Player three years ago. After showing a keen interesting in developing his skills, he undertook a number of the pub company’s apprenticeship programmes and followed their career pathway which led him to take on his first General Manager role in November last year.

He said: “Spirit is a brilliant place to work, not only is there a friendly and positive working environment but there is a truly infectious culture for development. From the moment I joined I was informed of the various apprenticeship programmes that were available, encouraged to view the extensive online learning facilities, and briefed on the steps I would need to take if I wanted to develop.

“Thanks to Spirit, in just over three years I’ve been able to develop my skill set, achieve new qualifications, and reach my goal to take on my own pub.”
